I've listened to it... Almost there !!!

I'm just not convinced about the intro : I think that beginning with such a riff requires someting introducing it. It could be bass, drums or synth...

But there you have a heavy riff that is softened with a melody after a few seconds. I think that the song could begin with the melody guitar with nothing else.

Waiting for others opinion.

Good job however.

Thanks Bernie, I'll do some more work on it and do tabs.

What is the tuning of your guitar on strings 1-7? Is it B E A D G B E?

Very good job, Chris! I think all elements are there: the game is now to find the good order, next monday.
My opinions:
  1. Synth lead must not play whith voices: "too many notes". Or maybe only synth and voice, without guitars, in some parts.
  2. The pad is beautiful: what else can I do ? It's enough. Maybe this pad in the intro, too ?
  3. The chorus is good

I dig it! Nonetheless I agree with Bernard regarding the Intro ... I also think that it should be lighter. In this version there are many ingredients that are somehow misleading. It should be kept more simple which in this case doesn't mean less efficient.
I like the transition at 1'19 ... well done ...
The chorus rocks! Now it's up to me to find something as good as the rest.
One last thing in this new version, you are experimenting a few things. Some do work, others don't ... We'll clean that up on monday!
Very good job Chris ... Another hit!!!! Wink

Nice to hear about your wife Paul, that's great news. Wondering if our main target group would think the same, but I am all for style flexibility anyways.

I am right now posting a version with an alternative beginning. The danger is though, that the more I work on it, the more I am adding new parts, and there are too many already. Arranging is not my biggest strength and some leadership from you guys will do me good here.

I won't do any more rearranging now, but rather spend time on tabbing the different parts for Bernie and Oli so we have all the bits and pieces on Monday and can concentrate on bringing them in order. I'll do the tabs in text format though (Guitar Pro is killing me).

I'm still not convinced by the intro : the synth part : very good but I don't like the mix between the arpegios, the synth and the power chord. It souds a bit "out". In my opinion the part that should be removed is the power chord.

About the chorus : almost there but not completely. The bridge introducing the chorus : great! But when the chorus arrives it brings some strange "acceleration". I think that there are too much different chords or that the chords are changing too quickly. I have some suggestion about this but maybe you can try yourself. I was thinking of the song Heven's a lie from Lacuna Coil. The tempo does not accelerate but the voice and the synth gives an interresting emphasys. It also permits the voice to have more freedom to place itselfs in the mix with a very interresting melody. I post the video to illustrate what I'm talking about.
